Thank you for your interest in joining the Dance Nova Scotia Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors play a vital role in achieving our mission and vision to foster dance as a cultural, educational, social, recreational and healthful activity for all. Dance Nova Scotia actively recruits new board members and they are appointed at the Annual General Meeting. We welcome individual applicants with suitable skills and experience to help us grow and elevate the art and importance of all dance across the province.

Applications for the DANCE NOVA SCOTIA Board of Directors can be made by filling out and submitting the below form. The Dance Nova Scotia nominating committee will review all applications and approved candidates will be forwarded for voting at the Annual General Meeting on June 10, 2025 at 5:30pm.

Deadline for early applications is Friday, May 30th, 2025. Members of Dance Nova Scotia may also be nominated from the floor by other members at the Annual General Meeting. Each nomination at the meeting requires a mover and a seconder.

Once elected, board members sit as independent directors and not as a representative of a school or organization. They may, however, bring viewpoints and concerns about the dance discipline and the region from which they come.

The Dance Nova Scotia board meets no less than 4 times each year in addition to the Annual General Meeting. Dance Nova Scotia board members may also be asked to sit on the organization’s standing and ad hoc committees.
