Dancing with Access
A FREE 3 part virtual panel series designed to educate and support ongoing conversation and learning about accessibility and inclusion across the Nova Scotia arts sector.
Series session 1: Accessibility in Professional Dance
Wednesday, September 23, 2026
6pm – 8pm online via zoom
This opening session explores accessibility and inclusion in professional dance. Participants will hear the perspectives of several interdisciplinary dance artists, artistic directors, and producers from across Canada. These invited artists and practitioners will consider what accessibility means in their scope of practice and how inclusive approaches are embedded in their work.
This two hour Zoom event will feature:
- short presentations by Naomi Brand, Kass Prus and Karla Etienne
- a moderated panel discussion facilitated by Raven Davis, and
- time for questions from those participating.
Dance Nova Scotia is excited to host these amazing artists and learn from their perspectives and experiences.
Interpreting services will be provided, and more details will be available soon.
If there are any questions about access measures, please reach out to DANS at: accessibility@dancens.ca for additional support at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to assist.
This project and Dance Nova Scotia are generously funded
