September Pop-Up Contact Improv Workshop

September 16 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

$15.00
Let’s gather and dance on a super harvest moon week!

The HFX Contact Improvisation community has been on hiatus, but it is time to warm up your spines and dust off your knee pads!! Please join community CI enthusiasts for an evening of CI dancing.

Exploring CI as a question rather than an a rote form, together we will explore the principles and practice of contact improvisation. This pop-up practice will be a mix of physical skill work, perceptual tuning, body puzzles, and improvisational scores for open free dancing.

Join us to tune our bodies collectively to the earth’s (and Moon’s) physical forces and with each other, finding release and new discoveries in the point of contact, falling, folding, leading and following, changing level, and flying. Unlock your potential and challenge the art of adaptability to discover the dance that is already there!

Guidelines for creating a safe and creative space will be reviewed at the start of the evening.

Suggested Drop-in Rate: $15, or PWYC
ALL LEVELS – intro friendly
