BECOME A DANCE NOVA SCOTIA BOARD MEMBER

A COMMUNITY UNITED IN DANCE

Want a little excitement in your life? Want to share your expertise and/or knowledge?  This is an exciting time for dance and the benefits it brings to all ages. Be part of the incredible dance community that spans our province from north to south and every community in between.

Dance Nova Scotia is always looking for new board members and anyone interested in working on our various committees. You don’t need to be a dancer, just have a love for dance. Our board is interested in your background and how it can benefit the organization. Being a part of an organization that shapes the view of dance through the province as well as working to build the strength of dance organizations and institutions can be very rewarding.

Having a dance background is a plus but is not necessary. What is important is a love of dance and a desire to build a healthy support network for its survival. You will be surprised at what your support can do to help build the profile of dance in our province.

JOIN A DANCE NOVA SCOTIA COMMITTEE

Besides board positions, you might also consider working on one of our committees. Committee work can be more relaxed and requires less commitment than board positions may. Committee work can be incredibly rewarding for anyone with interest.  As we move into a new way of looking at our world due to the vast changes brought about by COVID-19, there is a lot of vision needed to see the future of dance move forward and committee work will be a big part of that innovation and change.

Committee work at Dance Nova Scotia includes a broad area of interest:

Education
Communications
Marketing/Outreach
Finance
Budget/Fund Development
Governance
Bylaws/Policy/Nominations

Because we encompass all dance in the province, we are happy to welcome dancers from all disciplines and interests.
