Dance Nova Scotia’s Program Partnership offers fundraising support for eligible projects, including access to a secure donation platform through CanadaHelps.org, enabling tax-deductible contributions. Through this program, Dance Nova Scotia collaborates with both individuals and organizations to develop and support initiatives that span a wide range of dance disciplines and serve diverse communities across the province.

What Is the Program Partnership?

The Program Partnership supports projects that align with Dance Nova Scotia’s mission:
“To foster dance as a cultural, educational, social, recreational, and healthful activity for all.”

By partnering with Dance Nova Scotia, you’ll gain access to valuable tools, fundraising platforms, promotional support, and donor incentives — all designed to bring your dance project to life.

 


 

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to current, paid members of Dance Nova Scotia.

For Individual Dance Artists:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Nova Scotia.

  • Artistic work must primarily take place in the province.

For Organizations:

  • Must be a registered not-for-profit society in good standing in Nova Scotia.

  • Most activities must take place within the province.



Program Benefits

Fundraising Support

  • Donations are made directly to Dance Nova Scotia via CanadaHelps.org, ensuring secure and traceable transactions.

  • 100% of funds (minus standard service fees) go directly to your project.

Marketing & Visibility

  • Get featured in Dance Nova Scotia newsletters, social media, and promotions.

  • Your project gains added credibility and exposure by being associated with a trusted provincial arts organization.

Tax-Deductible Donations

  • Donors receive tax receipts for contributions.

  • Multiple donation methods accepted: CanadaHelps, e-transfer, cheque, or credit card.

Guidance & Resources

  • Receive a fact sheet and access to fundraising tips and support materials.

  • Strategic support in messaging and planning your campaign.



Your Responsibilities

To maintain transparency and accountability, partners must:

  • Keep detailed financial records and retain receipts for all expenses.

  • Ensure no individual profits from donations (aside from artist fees and production costs).

  • Maintain an arms-length relationship between donors and the project team.

  • Credit Dance Nova Scotia as a partner on all promotional materials.

  • Submit a written program outline and post-project financial report.
