Dance Nova Scotia Announces New Board of Directors Following June 18, 2024 AGM

Halifax, NS – June 19, 2024 – Dance Nova Scotia is pleased to announce its newly elected Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting held on June 18, 2024. The board members, comprised of dedicated leaders from the dance community, bring a wealth of experience and passion to their roles, poised to guide the organization through its next phase of growth and development.

 

New Board Members:

Hadear Marzooque – HR Leader and Immigration Consultant
Jen Cole – School Owner and Dance Educator
Robin LevyFund Development/Campaign Manager

 

Returning Board Members:

  • Maeghan Taverner
  • Sara Adams
  • Sara Corkum

 

Each member of the board brings unique skills and perspectives that will contribute to Dance Nova Scotia’s mission of supporting and promoting dance in the province. Their combined expertise in dance, education, finance, and community engagement ensures a strong foundation for advancing the organization’s goals.

 

Sara Adams, Outgoing Board President, expressed her enthusiasm about the new board, stating, “As the outgoing President of Dance Nova Scotia, I am thrilled to announce the addition of four extraordinary new board members and the election of a dynamic new executive team. Their exceptional skills and fresh perspectives will undoubtedly breathe new life into our organization. We are excited to launch a series of initiatives aimed at improving communication across the province, fostering meaningful discussions on crucial issues within our dance community, and enhancing our ability to share and solve challenges collectively. These efforts are all in service of our enduring vision of being ‘united in dance’.”

 

The newly elected executive team of the Dance Nova Scotia Board of Directors consist of:

Hadear Marzooque – Vice President
Jen Cole – Treasurer
Elaine Mailman – Secretary
