An advisory committee is a group of individuals, typically with relevant expertise, that provides non-binding advice and recommendations to a governing body, such as a board of directors or a government entity.

Membership
Dance Nova Scotia offers a multi-tiered membership for students, individuals, nonprofits, dance groups, and non-dance/arts businesses.
Member benefits included discounted Socan rates, discounted use of DANSpace, local businesses discounts, discounted print and photocopy services, free workshops, access to the Dance Nova Scotia Partnership Program, affiliated membership rate to Canadian Dance Assembly, and more.
DANSpace
DANSpace is the Dance Nova Scotia Studio located in the Lighthouse Arts Centre in downtown Halifax. DANSpace offers a low cost per hour rental, discounted further for Dance Nova Scotia members. DANSpace is also the home of KINETIC.

KINETIC Partnership
KINETIC is a non-profit contemporary dance support organization dedicated to the creation, development, and presentation of contemporary dance. Dance Nova Scotia and KINETIC have a long standing partnership where Dance NS provides KINETIC with free space for their workshops and programming.
Community Calendar
Dance Nova Scotia operates a free community calendar on our website. Dance and Arts organizations, studios, schools, etc. can post their events, offerings, and dates to the calendar.
Jobs Board
Dance Nova Scotia operates a free arts Job Board on our website. Dance and Arts organizations, studios, schools, etc. can post their jobs directly to the web board.
Program Partnership
The Program Partnership is available for Dance Nova Scotia members and supports projects that align with Dance Nova Scotia’s mission:
“To foster dance as a cultural, educational, social, recreational, and healthful activity for all.”
Members partnering with Dance Nova Scotia will gain access to valuable tools, fundraising platforms, promotional support, and donor incentives — all designed to help bring dance projects to life.

United In Dance Podcast
Dance Nova Scotia produces a monthly podcast called United In Dance. In each episode special guests discuss topics and issues in dance. Each episode also features a Nova Scotian music artist.

PERFORM!
PERFORM! brings together professional performers with teachers and students in public and private schools across Nova Scotia. Its primary goal is to enhance learning by involving Performing Artists in the delivery of Drama, Music, and Dance curricula.
Breakspace
Free weekly drop-in introductory Breaking (“Breakdance”) workshops and sessions facilitated by Nick Nguyen. In partnership with Unity charity, BreakSpace is a pilot program to facilitate the growth of the HipHop dance community and the NS dance scene in general.
Dance for Health: Seniors
Dance for Health: Seniors is an ever evolving program dedicated to get and keep seniors moving. Primarily a “Train the Trainers” program, Dance for Health: Seniors also supports an active community of instructors who have taken the training and are hosting classes in various parts of Nova Scotia.
